Victor has 35 years of experience in treasury and private banking. He started his career at Bank of America in 1983 as a spot FX dealer before being seconded to the Bank’s Financial Markets & Training Centre where he was a trainer in foreign exchange, financial futures and financial economics. He left BOA in 1986 to be corporate FX dealer in Citibank before leaving for Bankers Trust where he headed the Corporate FX Division serving the banks corporate as well as margin trading clients. He left bankers Trust in 1993 to be Treasury Manager of Bank of America where he managed the banks’ treasury operations in Singapore. He left treasury in 1998 to pursue a career in private banking with HSBC as Managing Director servicing the banks’ high net worth individuals. His track record speaks for itself, for example between Sept 1996- Jan 1997, he made US$3.5 million for a customer who put in a US$3 million margin. There are numerous other examples. He left in 2008 to be Senior Currency Analyst with Informa Global Markets before retiring in 2017. He has since been an adjunct lecturer at Kaplan Higher Education Academy teaching degree programs in Banking & Finance as well as being a social trader. Victor graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Economics degree.
Victor teaches the FX module of the ACI-SMU financial Markets Certificate course & he has taught hundreds of dealers through the Institute of Banking & Finance between 1986-1996. He has been lecturing in financial markets for almost 30 years in Treasury markets in areas like, Foreign Exchange, Financial Futures, Options & Interest Rate Risk Management to institutions such as the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore, Institut Bank, Bank Malaysia, AMCM Macau, Singapore Institute of Management, NUS and the Korean Exchange Bank. He had also conducted in-house training for Citibank Spore, Bank Negara Malaysia, Bank Duta & has given numerous seminars on FX, Money Market, Options & Financial Futures to Corporate customers through conference groups like Dominion Conferences, K.H.S. Consultancy, K.L.
Academically, he was the tutor for the Macquarie University Master of Applied Finance Program with the Institute of Banking & Finance. He was the local lecturer for the Curtin University of Technology Master of Finance Program with SHRI. He was also on the panel of lecturer/trainer with SMU, SHRI and Temasek Polytechnic. He was a faculty member responsible for lecturing the FX and Money Market and Enterprise Risk management module at the Singapore Management University Advanced Diploma in Private Banking Program accredited by the Institute Banking and Finance. he was also lecturer for the FX and MM for the Financial Markets Certificate Course at the SMU Financial Training Institute
He is a full time trader managing his own fund and is also currently lecturing for Kaplan in Banking and Finance for the Murdoch University Bachelor of Commerce Program and SIM UOL in Investment Management, Financial Institutions and Markets
